Welsh folk group, 9Bach, performed at the inaugural Monsoon Music Festival at Hanoi’s Thang Long Imperial Citadel, to celebrate the capital city's 60th Liberation Day. Joining an array of artists from around the world including, Morocco, Sweden, France, Belgium, and Japan, the famous Welsh-singing group joined some of Vietnam's more prominent artists, such as singers Thanh Lam and Ha Tran, jazz guitarist French-Vietnamese Nguyen Le.
At a press conference in Hanoi on 3 September 2014, Music Director of the Monsoon Music Festival, Quoc Trung, expressed his hope that the event would bring a music festival for not only Hanoians but also people over the country, contributing to building a professional music industry in Vietnam.
Following their performance as part of the Horizons showcase at WOMEX 2013 in Cardiff, 9Bach were selected by Quoc Trung to play the first edition of the Moonson Music Festival. Having built a successfull career promoting the preservation of the Welsh language, 9Bach have toured extensively, including Czech Republic, Australia, as well as festivals in the UK such as Green Man and End of the Road. In May 2014 the band released their second album, Tincian.
