Celtic Connections, Glasgow's annual folk, roots, and world music festival, will have a special focus on India in 2014. Through our Folk Nations project, we will partner with Celtic Connections to represent the best of Indian folk music and traditions at the festival.
Folk Nations will feature some of the stars of the Indian folk scene, including Raghu Dixit and Papon, alongside fresh talent like Suhail Yusuf Khan, Saurav Moni, and Ruhaniyat. These artists will be joined by their Rajasthani counterparts and will perform in collaboration with several artists from across the UK to showcase truly international folk art.
We will invite a limited number of delegates to represent their country and network at Showcase Scotland, a gathering that is unmatched in the connections it has been known to incubate. In addition, we will also host an India reception at the festival where major players of the music industries across the world will have a chance to connect with each other. In an event that promises to be both international and intimate, the reception will present India through a variety of art forms to global audiences at the festival.
