The EFG London Jazz Festival returns for it's 22nd year from 14-23 November 2014; taking over some of London's biggest venues, clubs and performance spaces to programme some of the best jazz music from around the world. With highlights including 75 Years of the iconic Blue Note Records, centenary celebrations for the Performing Rights Society, and a programme of activity celebrating the contribution from South Africa to the worldwide jazz scene, this year's festival will continue to build on its reputation as one of the jazz sector's most diverse music events. In addition to the music an expanded programme of events, talks, interviews and films will add another dimension to the festival to encourage the widest possible audience.
British Council are working closely with the festival to programme a British Showcase, which will take place on the last weekend of the festival, 20-23 November 2014. As part of our activities for this showcase we will be inviting the following international festivals to attend performances, networking receptions and other events to broker new relationships with the UK jazz sector. In addition to the British Showcase, international delegates will take part in a dedicated study tour of the Uk sector; meeting with key individuals, organisations, venues, artists and instutions, to present the landscape of UK jazz.
International delegates will include:
KENYA: Kavutha Asiyo, Music Director - Safaricom Jazz Festival
KENYA: Rahab Nderu, Festival Producer - Safaricom Jazz Festival
ROMANIA: Marius Giura, Festival Director - Garana Jazz Festival
TURKEY: Mehmet Harun Izer, Assistant Director - Istanbul Jazz Festival
