Bryde is that rarest of talents - a truly gifted songwriter and vocalist whose performances demand you sit up and take notice. In our latest Selector Radio live session, the Welsh songstress graces us with two intimate versions of tracks from her debut album, Like An Island. Following critical acclaim, the album was shortlisted for the Welsh Music Prize in 2018.
As well as the two tracks from Like An Island - "On the Subject of Breathing" and the arresting album opener "To Be Brave" - Bryde also talks to us about finding her independence as a solo artist and gives her tips for any young musicians wanting to follow in her footsteps. She also talks to us about her early influences in Milford Haven on the west coast of Wales and how her career took off as one half of the duo Paper Aeroplanes.
