SRA Selector 2013

August, 2013 / August, 2014

In 2013 The British Council offered six UK student radio stations the chance to produce and present our weekly radio show, The Selector. The SRA Selector is currently broadcast weekly from:

Jack Saunders – Fly FM – Nottingham Trent University

Louis Chadwick – Shock Radio – University of Salford

Michael Walmsley – Forge Radio – University of Sheffield

Lauren Rosewarne – RaW1251am – University of Warwick

Hazel Morgan - XpressionFM - University of Exeter

Lloyd Bent – Purple Radio – University of Durham

In October 2013 the students chosen were invited to attend a training day at the Folded Wing production studios in London, where The Selector Radio show is recorded and produced each week. Throughout the day the students took part in a number of sessions that would help them to present and produce their Selector shows. Sessions were presented by the Folded Wing team as well as our very own Sam Hall - AKA Goldierocks - including how The Selector works within the music industry, how to structure a show, build a playlist, write scripts and gather music.

The Selector Student Radio initiative is part of British Council Study Work Create, a website for 16-25 year olds living in the UK to find opportunities to study, work, travel or develop their creativity at home or abroad.
