Grace Pitkin graduated with a Music degree from the University of Leeds in 2018. Originally a classical pianist, she discovered her love of curating live music projects and events after producing Madame Jazz, an event platform for female-led jazz in Leeds. During her time at university she also produced a bi-monthly global music show on Leeds Student Radio called Postcards From. As a participant of the Young & Serious professional development programme 2018-2019, led by Serious, she helped to produce music and art events at Rich Mix and Stratford Circus in London.
After graduating, she spent a year living in Leeds programming a weekly jazz night, teaching piano, playing in a folk band and working for The Leaf Label. She has also worked with WOMAD Festival and Diplomats of Sound in Bristol. Grace moved to London to further pursue a career in music, working as a Production Assistant for the EFG London Jazz Festival 2019.
Grace joined the British Council’s Music Team in January 2020 and coordinates music showcase events, working with UK festivals and partners like The Great Escape.
