The John Peel Lecture is an annual talk delivered by a different figure in the music industry each year. Brian Eno, once of Roxy Music, delivered the most recent 2015 lecture from the British Library in London. He framed his lecture around two key questions: is art a luxury and if we value it, how do we encourage and develop it? You can listen to the lecture in full below.
The John Peel Lecture is organised by BBC 6Music and the inaugural lecture was delivered by Pete Townshend in 2011. Subsequent speakers include Billy Bragg, Charlotte Church and Iggy Pop.
