ROYAL ALBERT HALL

As a charity the Royal Albert Hall is dedicated to giving access to all by running a thriving Education and Outreach programme. Delivering a wide range of opportunities linked to the Hall’s history and its current events, it works with children, teachers, young people, families and community groups.

The Royal Albert Hall aims to inspire creativity and support new and developing musicians. It is a strategic partner for the Tri-Borough Music Hub, responsible for the strategic planning of music education in schools across its three local boroughs, and an official partner of Music for Youth and the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, supporting their work to nurture young talent. The Hall also works closely with its neighbour the Royal College of Music, offering performance opportunities to their students and working with the RCM Sparks programme.

Tapping in to the incredible range of musicians who come to the venue to perform, the Hall is able to offer a unique programme of workshops for school children and young people, which has included working with musicians like Emeli Sande, Foals, Nicola Benedetti MBE and BRIT nominated Jake Bugg.

The Royal Albert Hall doesn’t only work with aspiring performers. Resident ensemble Albert’s Band perform engaging concerts for families and also take the Royal Albert Hall Songbook, a nostalgic journey through the musical history of the Hall, to care homes, hospitals, day centres and hospices. In 2013, the Hall established a Friendship Matinee concert, which offers those supported by charities, voluntary or community groups the opportunity to see a concert at the Hall for just £5.
