Convergence celebrates the intersection of art, music and technology, providing a platform for creative producers, artistic directors, experimenters and creatives. Live music events will take place across the capital, in venues from the Royal Festival Hall to Village Underground.

Convergence Sessions 2017

For its fourth year, Convergence Sessions – a series of talks, networking events and discussions running alongside the live arts and music programme – will take place at a new home, Behind The Bike Shed in Shoreditch, East London, and the British Council are delighted to be involved. These sessions will be running over the 24th and 25th March – expect a summit of ideas, as we bring together leading thinkers in music, art and technology to debate and spark ideas for future collaborations.

We have also invited a delegation of overseas producers, music managers and promoters to see for themselves what the UK currently has to offer and share their international experience.

The line-up for the sessions includes Native Instruments, Marshmallow Laser Feast, onedotzero, Carroll/Fletcher, Elektra, Punchdrunk, British Council, Another Space, Circa69, and Mixcloud. Onedotzero will host a special guest-curated session focused on artists who use machine learning, robotics, wearable computing and prosthetics to design performative systems and interactive experiences. The weekend will close with an evening hosted by Native Instruments, featuring live music, talks, and workshops exploring intelligent sound design and the boundaries of music and technology.
