A year-round, award-winning programme that delivers high quality music projects to young people, amateurs and the community. Working locally with a full breadth of the community including school pupils and teachers, young people with multiple complex needs, dementia sufferers, prisoners, the wider community and artists. This has included a highly acclaimed production of Noye’s Fludde in Lowestoft for the Britten Centenary.

Dartington International Summer School is a three-week combined music festival and summer school artistically directed by Nicholas Daniel, internationally acclaimed conductor and oboist. Dartington provides an opportunity for talented amateurs of all ages and abilities to mingle with professional musicians and composer at weekly master classes and workshops. With over fifty major courses spanning the whole of the western musical repertoire as well as music from other cultures from Viol Consorts and Early Brass, to Gospel Choir and Improvisation, this event offers great diversity.

The Festival was established in 1978.

sound is an innovative festival of new music. Delivering projects to our neighbourhood schools increases cross-cultural communication and builds core skills such as literacy, numeracy and team-work. Music in the Community brings opportunities to those who may not otherwise have access to the arts.
