JUICE VOCAL ENSEMBLE
JUICE VOCAL ENSEMBLE
Juice are an experimental female a cappella trio who celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2013. They perform genre-hopping new vocal music which is inspired by contemporary classical music, folk, jazz, pop, electronica, world music, theatre and improvisation.
Juice are passionate about education and community work, which has included running courses and workshops and giving family-friendly concerts with the likes of Wigmore Hall Learning, Aldeburgh Young Musicians, the Sound and Music Composition Summer School, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival Education, Colourscape and Live Music Now. They work with everyone from postgraduate composers to amateur adults or children with learning difficulties. They often give pre-concert workshops and then invite participants to perform with them as part of the 'juice collective'.
They were an Ensemble In Residence at York University from 2007-13 and have given seminars and workshops at institutions including Queen's University Belfast, Royal Holloway, Newcastle University, Wesleyan University in Connecticut and many more.
Juice Vocal Ensemble offers workshops and courses, for all ages and abilities, in singing unusual vocal music, writing or devising music for voices and ensemble singing.
