Selector Radio has been nominated for Best Specialist Music Show in one of the most prestigious awards in the radio industry – the Radio Academy's ARIAS (Audio and Radio Industry Awards), known as 'the Oscars of radio'.
Our UK host, Jamz Supernova, finds herself double-nominated with Selector and her BBC 1Xtra show both in with a chance of winning in the Specialist Music Show category. Selector will also compete against Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 6 Music show, Michael Morpurgo's Folk Journeys for BBC Radio 4, The Music of James Bond for Scala Radio and We Still Believe with The Blessed Madonna who all make up the rest of the category.
The ARIAS recognise 'the talented individuals and teams in UK audio and radio who excel at their craft and produce the very best body of work in the world ... categories cover the most diverse range of genre, talent and output from public service radio, commercial radio, podcasters, community radio, student radio, independent production, audio books and beyond.'
