Selector is on air in over 30 countries and four million listeners tune in to the latest show each week, connected by a shared passion for new music. This is a show that truly understands that a love of music is not defined by borders.
In Spain, the show has grown over a number of years and is now not only a successful show on air but also on the stage and in the classroom. Here’s a taste of Selector in Spain.
On air and online
In Spain, you can tune in to Selector on Radio 3 Extra and the Radio 3 app. This Spanish language version of Selector is written, hosted and produced by our local presenter, Nicolas Jackson who creates the Spanish language version of the show using selections of the tracks and features in the UK-made Selector show, which is hosted by Jamz Supernova. The same approach is used by many other countries around the world from China to Argentina meaning Selector is uniquely connected to the world of music.

Selector Live and We Are Equals
As part of Selector Live, Spain has played host to names including Ray BLK, Mabel and our new Selector host, Jamz Supernova. Selector Live brings some of the UK’s most exciting bands and DJs to stages around the world.
The British Council in Spain also uses lyrics from tracks featured on Selector to help school children learn English and develop an understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion amongst young English language learners across the country.
In response to the gender gap in the music industry, Selector in Spain launched the #WeAreEquals campaign which identifies and showcases emerging talent and leaders in the music industry, all able to promote greater gender equality and diversity across the music business. Previous #WeAreEquals guests include Carly Wilford, Afrodeutsche and Lauren Mayberry from Chvrches.
