The BSO Education & Participation Department has a thriving programme that see the Orchestra working beyond the concert hall with people of all ages and abilities, reaching communities throughout the South & South West, we organise activities ranging from inspirational workshops in schools to special performances in care homes. Having been one of the first of such programmes to be established by a UK orchestra, it is now widely recognised as a leader in the field. Musicians from the Orchestra spend approximately 100 days a year making music with a wide range of groups, young and old, throughout the country. At the heart of Meet the Music is the belief that creative music-making should be accessible to all.
